Methamphetamine Drug Labs
Victims

There are many victims in a methamphetamine drug lab. Seventy percent of methamphetamine drug labs in residential homes have children present. Often times these children are injured or killed through explosion, fire, exposure to toxic fumes, and chemical burns to the body. The “cooks” themselves are victims because they do not wear protective gear. First responders, EMT, law enforcement, firefighters, and hospital personnel become victims from the fumes radiating off the offenders clothes. Finally, the actual users of the methamphetamines are victims as well. Most users do not realize that methamphetamine contains thousands of complex chemical chains from everyday household products such as red devil lye drain cleaner, lithium strips from batteries, isopropyl rubbing alcohol, iodine, hydrogen iodine, and ammonium hydroxide. All of these components are extremely harmful to the body.
